I don't see halo 3 skulls. HELP!!!!!!?

i am playing in normal...for example when i play floodgate....the skull suppose to be right there in the beginning of the level but i don't see it....i have seen people get it on youtube but the skull doesn't show up on my campaign.....also the skull on top of the air vent in that conference room isn't showing up....so i have no skulls at all.....
i go in campaign lobby
then under mission...i select the one (for ex: floodgate)
then i click on "mission start"
it loads up
and i start playing....
am i doing anything wrong?
please help.

Make sure you are starting that the beginning of the mission and are playing on at least Normal difficulty. they won't show up in easy.

yup, begginning of the whole mission, not from a checkpoint.
