Was it all in my head?

It all started in Art Class, early 2006. On the First day of class i was late and the only seat that was empty was next to a Russian guy. When i sat next to him he looked at me in a state of confusion, looking at me back and forth. Afterwards i started sitting one row behind him, i started staring at him first and i'll notice he would turn around and stare back at me.The class grew smaller in size because most of the students withdrew the course. I made the bold decision of sitting on his row ( bear in mind that my art class was like a conference room each table were together and you can slide around in your chair). Our row was empty it was just us two and eight empty seats, i was in one end of the corner. The next week he started sitting right next to me. There would be times when our arms would touch for several mins but he would later pull away. I once hit his legs by mistake because his legs were right next to mine. I said sorry and he just smiled and laughed and told me it was ok.

during this period he would stare at me in the hallways and that made me uncomfortable. He would stare at me for about 2 mins without turning his head anywhere else, his eyes just on me. But i lowered my head and looked down so we didnt have eye contact. Soon after 3 months he started ignoring me and everything changed. At the end of the semester it was I now who was trying to get his attention. After that we never saw each other again.

Until last week Fall semester 2007..i saw him in one of his classes but he didnt notice me. I want to finally go up to him and talk!

my question is was this all in my head? was there anything there? was he gay? or was i just assuming things?

Thanks guys i don't have any gay friends and im not open with my sexuality yet.

Approach him and say hello, see where the conversation leads and ask him out for a cup of coffee and baklava and make a new friend. Besides being in the closet you sound very shy, It's time to spread your wings and blossom. Good luck to you and nyet is not the answer.
