What examples have you seen on the job of employees whether known or anonymous destroying things?

Has anyone ever experienced employee sabotage at work?

What kinds of things were they doing?

All of a sudden, things started to break in the office. First it was minor things such as broke door handles, holes kicked in bathroom walls, spit on all the corporation鈥檚 plaques and logos.

Then it became more destructive, $5,000 conference room tables began falling apart and very expensive color copiers shorted out by water. I don鈥檛 know if this is one person or even if it is more than one person, but it's getting out of control.

Please answer what occurred and how it was stopped.

Thanks.

Many years ago worked at a place where the very fancy conference room table (with inlaid wood in the shape of the company logo) was found broken one morning. The CEO was so mad, he questioned everyone and had the building give him a copy of who had signed out late that night -- figuring something that big would make a lot of noise so it had to happened off hours.

The CEO then installed security cameras in all hallways and outside of the executive offices. Spent big money on all the cameras - in everyplace but inside the washrooms. He had a security room installed where someone would sit and monitor all the cameras during the day and at night set up video recorders. Because no one would come forward about the damage the CEO canceled the company Christmas party and the tacky token gifts we all got.

Finally found out that it was the CEO's own son who was executive VP and some woman from another department. Caught them on the cameras going back into the conference room one night after work hours, checking to see the the table had been repaired, and doing it on the same table. This time it didn't break but the tape was copied and passed around to all those who hated the CEO's son. LOL

My exco-worker, Tim, broke the scale ("literally"). He was fired.

Are there people that you suspect? Possibly security camera. We have a guy that doesn't sabotage. He's just got mental problems and he'll throw things and stuff. He slammed his phone against his computer screen and broke both.

I work in a pawnshop and I am always breaking ugly jewelry which I would be embarassed to sell so I can sell it as scrap. If the owners ask why I am scrapping a certain piece I can say that its broken

Many years ago I was a laborer refirbishing a shopping mall. The walls were metal stud, open above the drop ceiling. The walls of a sporting good store were literally *full* of sporting goods. I can't imagine that that company could thrive with that level of loss, but I will never know, because it was long closed by the time I was there to break the walls and find the sporting goods.

Tacky as it is, a store camera would have revealed the source of that loss. Get one.
