Was wondering why my voice chat wont work, using windows vista?

i bought a new e-machine computer(generic gateway). its has the new windows version on it,windows vista. my voice wont work in the chat rooms or in conference rooms. what do i need to do to fix this problem. soemone please help.thanks

Yes, I have the exact same problem. yahoo messenger isnt compatible with windows vista, yet....yahoo is working on a messenger just for vista though, so i guess we'll just have to wait.

After reading this, and believe me it was more surreal the further in I delved, I'm convinced that ANYONE jumping on the Vista bandwagon has either no clue what sort of draconian setup this is, or unaware of the depths microsoft is going to lock people in to what they want irregardless of technical merit or actual need.
Hardware AND software vendors are going to pass these costs on, and this is going to hurt the consumer in a way that makes the MAC seem cheap by comparison.
And as Linux user, I too will be affected if this process continues down the primrose path, as it affects the costs of the hardware I use and will be using in the future.
To CCP, if any developers are reading this, do you have ANY clue what supporting this platform means, philosophically or technically? All for some dx10 bling?number one you will have to up grade your computer to get it to work sorry but this is true

did you ever get an answer to this question? I have Vista as well and I love it... but, I cant get the voice conference to work. What did you do to fix this issue?
