Well, maybe if all of the Democratic candidates were rich, old, white men like every Republican, there would be no need to fear action from crazy racist or sexist bigots.

Due to her former first lady status Hillary has always had secret service protection and would have had it no matter what.

I would say that Obama's secret service protection stems from racism and his identity being a black man rather than a democrat. I'm sure Colin Powell would have had to have protection this early on had he been running on the GOP platform.

Maybe it's just that Republicans are man enough to protect themselves.
