Did hospital screwups kill Anna Nicole's son?

Did Anna Nicole Smith's son die due to medical negligence? A hospital employee told reporters at the Nassau Guardian that 20-year-old Daniel Wayne Smith passed away after the medical staff at Doctor's Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas, couldn't locate the proper oxygen supply needed to resuscitate him. Smith died while visiting his stripper-turned-spokesmodel mother at the hospital, where she had given birth three days earlier, reportedly via caesarean, to a baby daughter. At a press conference commemorating the fifth anniversary of 9/11 Monday, Prime Minister Perry Christie said Anna Nicole had been granted permanent residency in the Bahamas just last week, and recently bought a home on Nassau's posh Eastern Road.
The hospital's CEO, Barry Rassin, strongly denied the negligence allegations in an interview with Radar, saying that the hospital is pursuing legal action against the Nassau Guardian, which reported the anonymously sourced story on Tuesday. "Standard procedure was followed at all times," says Rassin.

According to the paper, Daniel was vomiting uncontrollably before he collapsed and died, sending his mother into a "violent rage" as she wrestled with hospital workers to get closer to her son. "All we know right now is that he was on anti-depressants," the source says. "Some things indicate that he probably overdosed on those drugs."

By the time it was all over, the room "was a total mess" splattered with blood and vomit, and Smith's son, who she gave birth to at age 18, was dead.

This is yet to be determined. Even if they did, I don't believe the hospital will admit it.

i read this earlier today in the paper it has absolutely nothing to do with hospital screw ups, it has everything to do with anna nicole smith screwups. being a playboy model she lived the partygirl life and she raised her son the same way. he did a lot of partying and drinking and drugs. i read she had a daughter a few days ago and then her 20 year old son was throwing up all over the hospital room and spitting out a lot of blood and then he went to sleep on the chair and never woke up. and the thing he died from was a serious drug overdose. the hospital couldnt do anything about it. the hospital workers tried to recesitate him for 20 minutes but no progress.

After closely following the facts of the case it does not appear that the hospital has erred in any way. The case history of the victim itself shows that he was extremely vulnerable. It is a usual experience that people affected by the death of near and dear relatives try to made a scene of negligence of the medical staff. At Mumbai the followers of a leaders burnt down the hospital because the leader succummbed to injuries. In mofussil hospitals this is always the sad experience.

This is so tragic, she just had a baby and her son died in her room.
I do not agree with her lifestyle, but she is a person with feelings and I'm sure she is devastated over this.

i guess we have to wait and see. if the hospital was at fault, they will find a way to get around the blame
