Will Lebron and Team USA actually take a stand on Darfur?

This is LeBron James's most recent blog and he addresses Darfur.

I also watched a special on Outsides the Lines on ESPN that talked about Darfur. Kobe made a public awareness commercial. He was asked to be interviewed by ESPN but he refused. LeBron refused to sign Ira Newbles open letter to China saying the Olympics shouldn't be held in China. LeBron said he didn't know much about Darfur at the time. After learning about it... he wants to take a stand... and the best place to do it... is at the Olympics.

i do not think so because if they were to do something about darfur, they should of already of come together and do something about it like say send money to support. i feel most of them do not feel a need to help because they are team USA and the sad thing is a player like ira newble, who many do not know, is raising awareness for something a superstar cant.

kobe by doing that is helping, but needs to have a full force and back his issue.

Well there are already rumblings that the US as a whole may pull out of the Olympics completely...in all levels of competition.....I think it would send a strong statement if the NBA players of the US team did to back the US especially if they decide to pull out of the 2008 Olympiad

I dont know about LeBron....

But as a Lakers fan I know KOBE and Ira Newble have taken a stand on Darfur, I wouldnt be surprised to see a save darfur wrist band or something on Kobe

Of course they won't.

And risk losing fans which means losing sponsors which means losing money which is bad.

They probably won't
