I am looking to start up a small store in north east pa and i have no idea where to start asking questions?

i want to start a business and have no idea where to start on this aspect. we were looking into getting a grant but want to research the options first and go from there. Can anyone give me an idea on how much it is to rent a small commercial space in northeast pa?

firstly you need a business plan to take to your finance company, you can down load templates off the net, be realistic when you write it up as the lender will have some understanding of your expected clientelle and costs.
Research your area for clients and the rental costs all so, visit a few real estates and ask them questions on prices etc, deposits, what can be done to the space you will lease, also a huge percent of business up 90% fail in the first year so make sure you have a sound knowledge of how to run the business and finances and have money to back you up in the slow times and lastly lets say you are opening a takeaway shop, dont open in a street with ten other shops as there will be to much competition, research and planning!!! good luck

To get the information on rent you would need to contact the renter of the space. The cost will be different from store to store. You will pay more for a store in a mall vs at the old parts of town, but you will also have more foot traffic at a mall and possibly more sales. The square footage of the store will also affect the price of rent.
