What should I do! House completely flooded and inexperienced plumber!? |
So I posted another question about this a couple days ago. The plumber was here today and cut down more of the wall. He jackhammered a hole about a foot and a half down into the dining room and has still not located the leak! He left at 3 o' clock and said he would come back tomorrow to jackhammer the other side of the wall into the ground so he can have more space to work with (the kitchen!!). I still can't even believe this is happening to us! I thought this was just in commercials! Is there anything we can tell the plumber to do so maybe he won't have to jackhammer the rest of our house? The plumber works from inside his home (no businessplace) and doesn't seem to be very experienced! In the previous question someone said something about a line location? What's that? And it doesn't seem like he's trying to re-route the line. We are so confused! Hope he's not scamming us! Anyone have some recommendations!? The man is licensed and all! It just seems like theres a better way of doing it. I'm not asking you to tell me to get another plumber! The guy is trustable, and said he will not take money from me until the problem is fixed. He's working hard on it. He's just old-school, and I was asking for recommendations on what he could do to make the job easier. Please don't answer if you're just going to tell me to get another plumber. shoulda called a reputable plumber Call a pro Plumer He's probably scamming you and you'll have to hire another plumer plus someone to fix your holes in the walll call the plumber and tell him what's going on. call a real plumber and maybe get some drywall to patch up all of the jackhammer holes first of all you need to hire a professional !! second if it is a waste line you can try putting dye into the waste cleanout and see where it is seeping up, if ti is a supply line you need to shut the main and have a pro shoot a camera into the line to find the leak. good luck! We find and fix Slab and Underground leaks using State-Of-The-Art Electronic Leak Detection Systems and Tools!!! You should have only hired a licensed plumber who is bonded and insured for something like this. There are companies like American Leak Detectors, their specialty is finding leaks under a concrete slab. I hope you didn't pay this jack@ss anything up front. If you live within city limits, your city may require permits for a job like this, if he does not have them you could face fines. If he is not a master plumber, he probably can not get permits from your city. He needs to get a copy of blue prints for your house to make sure he is even digging in the right place. I would fire him before he does any more damage and hire a reputable plumber. How old is your house? If it is fairly new, you may be able to find the builder who built it and find out who did the original plumbing. They may still have their drawings, or better yet he may be willing to pick up where the inexperienced guy left off. |
