Commercial space-looking to rent in NJ?

LOOKING TO RENT A COMMERCIAL SPACE IN NJ AND WAS WONDER HOW THE RENT WORKS- IS IT BY THE SQ. SPACE AND IF SO DO YOU HAVE A GUESSTIMATE ABOUT WHAT THE GOING RATE IS

Most places (not sure about NJ) it is by square foot (sf). You will also have a CAM fee. CAM stands for Common Area Maintenance - parking lot, lights, sidewalks, etc. You may, depending on the landlord, also have to pay property taxes, pro-rated insurance premiums and utilities. The rent is just a part of your fees. Check with particular spaces to see what they're going for and inquire about CAM fees.

For going rates try looking on www.loopnet.com. You should be able to search and see what the averages are in your area.
