What do u think about the changing trends in textile design in commercial spaces in terms of?

color and pattern in the last few years. Use your observations to comment on the changes that you anticipate after ten years. Provide reasons for your hypotheses.

I think that commercial spaces are venturing away from what is safe and are using more daring, bold patterns and colours. I especially notice this in carpet, where there are an increase in large print, and unique patterns that are eye catching not just utilitarian. I am also noticing this in wall textures people are becoming very creative in their materials, and we are seeing a lot of heavy wood on the wall, metal inlays etc, much more elaborate than the usual commercial wallpaper that comes in twelve colour choices, available in three textures (that's over) now it's all about impressive mill-work, unique fabrics and so on. The reason, I feel is that there has been an increase in wealth or at least a need to decorate to show the appearance of wealth because wealth leads to confidence and shows success, which can lead to more success. Also we have a real desire for luxury lately, we still like clean lines but we want warmth, you see the change in restaurants and hotels, law offices, etc. I think that we are trading minimalistic for opulence. And so the ten year trend...usually we go for the polar opposite, like right now we are trading in the bold paint colours for pastels, so given that, we will probably head bad to minimal, clean looks maybe more function and utilitarian uses for materials.
