We tow cars, but only tow cars illegally parked. why do people scream at us for where they park and get towed?

We get called to tow cars parked illegally in someone's space, or on a commercial property after hours, or on private property without a permit. Cars that are trespassing on someone elses property without permission. But most of the time when the cars get picked up, people scream at us like we parked it there and we decided to tow it. I get excuses like, "the people we were visiting didn't say anything about getting towed" or "I saw the signs but didn't think they were serious. whats wrong with people. I am tired of getting yelled at for doing my job.

We do accept cash or credit card. we follow the state law on the regulation of prices. I have had my car towed. I wasn't paying attention to where we parked at and I was stranded, but I understood. We get Christmss Cards from a few of the people whose cars we've towed and we get alot of compliments on the phone from people who thank us for keeping thier parking areas free of unwanted cars for them. I guess its just that alot of people still say hurtful things when we are just doing our job and it bugs after a while. Its ironic too because most of the people who scream the loudest, usually end up calling afterwards because someone is in their space. No one ever thinks of calling the security company or property owners/managers who had the cars towed, they just take it out on us. In the year and a half we have been in business, we've NEVER had anyone accuse us of theft out of the cars. Thats pretty good because thats one of the biggest complaints I hear from people about other companies.

You are doing a great job and I, for one, am glad that you have this job. How many times I have needed to park in handi-capped parking and couldn't because somebody, without a sticker parked there. Many drivers are so inconsiderate. I am so thankful for you. Please keep up the good work.

That's not true that the people who scream the loudest r the 1st to tow someone else's car. One day someone blocked me in & a friend told me to get person's car towed but I was too nice to do it. Report It

Switch jobs, You are making money by inconveniencing people whether they are in the wrong or not.

Keep on towing. This is the only business which will continue to flourish because this business has police's backing. You guys even milk those so called illegally parked drivers only for showing your face for the equavalent amount of towing a car. Thats a job well done.

How would you feel if somebody pulled up to tow your tow truck, therefore leaving you stranded? You shouldn't feel too bad, you do this to other people all day long.

you are 100% right, but Have you ever had your car towed? In NY the tow truck drivers carry guns and knives because people get crazy when there cars are towed. I also think that the fees are way out of line, first you get a ticket, then a tow charge, then an impound fee, which is real high, then if the car is damaged during towing, or at the yard the owner of the car is responsible, the punishment does not fit the crime. Yes cars illegally parked should be towed, but the cost should only be like $50.00- $75.00 not $500 or more.

You're right, you're just doing what you're supposed to. My problem with tow truck companies is when you try to pick up your vehicle. If you don't have enough money, they will keep it until you do, at a substantial price everyday. Some places only take cash. Why?? So you don't have to show it in your records? You've got your customers by the nuts and you know it. They NEED their vehicles and you know it. And you know they will pay you to get them back. You are despicable. I have no problem if there could be found a fair way of doing business with towing companies, but there isn't. They are horrid, uncaring people.

I've never screamed at a tow-trucker, and I've had my car towed many times. It's expensive and infuriating, but you should never take it out on the wrong person. So when are we getting out of Iraq?

People scream at you because you are taking away a member of their family....here in the US we love our cars, like they're family. The reason that the storage yards and towing facilities charge so much, is the Insurance companies fault. Ask a towing company owner how much he pays for his Insurance.
