Tivo Alternative for the PC?

I am currently a Tivo user. My box is an integrated solution provided to me by DirectTV. I can record one show while watching another or I can record two shows.

I like Tivo and DirectTV just fine but I would like to open my doors to other solutions that I might like even more. First thing to note is that I am about to purchase a very cutting edge gaming PC which will include a 1 TB drive. If there is a solid PC-based solution out there, I'd definitely have a look. And yes, I am on a wireless network in my home.

I like Tivo's integration into DirectTV. I like how it handles season passes as I record a lot of TV series. I don't like having to manage the space on my Tivo and I'd like the ability to do the following:

1) Record 3-4 shows at the same time and still watch another.
2) Burn my saved recordings.
3) Eliminate commercials.
4) Control this from my PC or from a remote at my TV (different room from my PC)

You can actually accomplish all you want with two TiVo's. You could watch two shows and record four. With TiVo To Go you can transfer shows to your computer, delete the commercials and burn them to DVDs. Control may be a bit more difficult. You can program your TiVo's from your computer but a remote from another room would require some UHF remote relays probably available from a site such as X10 - http://www.x10.com/homepage.htm
