What do you do when u have an attraction to guys but you're not gay?

sometimes i feel like i like guys and i think sexual thoughts in my mind...but i cant be gay...its too hard for me i cant talk to anyone about it and i cant tell my friends b/c they will make fun of me and call me gay and i cant handle that im super sensitive and shy....SOMEONE GIVE ME ADVICE PLZ

First, toughen your hide or you won't survive the real world.

Second, from my understanding the teenage male will poke anything with a hole given a chance. If your hormone rush is anything like our pregnancy hormone rush, I feel for you.

Third, YOU decide who you love, not your friends. If you wish to act on it, do so. If not, do not.

If you are attracted, then that means you like them in every aspect that it's so strong. That would be emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, etc. The other feelings could just be admiration for their beauty or traits. That is not attraction. Attraction and love is more than that. Perhaps you are just admiring guys in looks. If you feel complete attraction and love, and want to love one, then it could be that you are homosexual.

It depends, your age, your hormones... teenagers are often looking for new experiences, trying new things, keeping up with the crowd to stay cool... you sound like you are curious about it though. Some people feel unsure or CONFUSED about their sexual preferences. It's normal! everyone goes through this stage. But there has been a study of people who are confused and found that most of these people have or where sexually abused in their childhood. In this case the best thing is to confidentially see a counselor or physciatric (note: this does not mean you are crazy). This will help you find out if you really have attraction towards men. Don't go out looking to see on your own, trying to find out if you are gay because if you are not you will face many ignorant responses from your "friends". True friends won't hurt you or your feelings no matter in which situation you stand, but the best true friends that you can have are your family, the ones that love you! they'll be there for you when you need them. Sexual preferences are difficult to deal with and even if you end up finding out you are gay, it'll get hard at first so don't turn your back on people if they do to you just embrace yourself and look up and forward. :)

I notice you don't mention sexual attraction to girls. That's because you're a guy with an attraction to guys. Unlike girls, who have an amazing ability to be attracted to both sexes at once, guys are either attracted to girls, or they're attracted to guys. It's not a bad thing, it's just how guys are. As you're noticing, you don't get to choose which it is. Before you have a chance to "decide" which you want to be, that's what you already are. And like I say, it's not a bad thing. For you it's a good thing. It'd better be, because that's what, and who, you are. You're right, it doesn't mean you're "gay." It only means you like guys.

What do you mean, you can't be gay? Either you are or you aren't, regardless of what you'd like.

Maybe you need to dedramatize the situation a little bit. While you shouldn't have to hide who you are, you also don't need to be telling everyone what your private thoughts are. That belongs to you. Give yourself more time to figure it out.

You need to find someone you can talk to so you don't go crazy. We are all sensitive and some of are shy. That's no excuse. You need to accept yourself, your authentic self.
You can't spend the rest of your life hiding from the truth.
As you accept yourself, you need to make some plans. When and how to tell you family, perferably closer to the time you finish high school. You need to find other gay kids with supportive parents who might be able to help you out if your parents don't take the news well. Try looking into obsessive compulsive disorder quizzes...maybe you're worrying about stuff that isn't quite necesssary. I am OCD, and this did and does sometimes happen to me.

But, one of the things that I thought was a weird, hopefully passing, behavior was my attraction to guys. I didn't want to attack them in kissing mode or anything, but I liked watching one guy run when I was in 8th grade, and some basketball players shoot freethrows. ANd one other guy's hands, they just looked cool to me.

Fast forward 20 years....I realized I WAS gay. And, that stuff didn't pass, no matter how I tried to make it go away.

Both the OCD and being gay are now manageble parts of my life. It's all good, man.

If you do look into the OCD stuff, Google also on an particular sort, just for grins...it's a serious thing, which was just awful for me,...if you feel this too, know that it's manageable... "scrupulosity", which has to do with feelings that I'd break horrible rules in places like church...like jump up and yell something really rude about the priest, or think really dirty stuff about religious nice saintly folks... really weird, found out it was absolutely common, and treatable.

My quick feel from your question is that you might very well be gay, and not want to. Nobody seems to want to be, but, it's really ok.

I gotta level with you bud, you either G.A.Y (Gay And Yummy) G.I.T (Gay In Training) or G.I.D (Gay In Denial). Don't take this the wrong way bud but there is no way you can have sexual thought about a dude if you're not one of the aforementioned acronyms. What I do advise you to do is not to pressure yourself into acting straight or doing certain things to appear straight if you're not. Take your time and sooner than later you'll find out for sure. Do what seems and feels natural to you and it will get clearer as you get older kid.

Well, if you have a difficult time talking to others, that can change. It is human have issues, and then we work through them. You can find lots of free advice online and at the library about how to talk to others. This has nothing to do with being or not being gay, it is simply a feeling about yourself, and is something you can learn and get to feeling more at ease. Well, the very best thing I'd say to do is try dating a guy. If you've never tried it then you don't really know if you're gay.
I found myself attracted to girls so i tried dating one and realized im bi. So you really don't know.
And, you can date one w/o your friends knowing. Gay/bi guys understand how it feels at first when you are confused about your sexuality and they won't make you tell people. Like the whole "i dont think its right that your embarrassed to be dating me" thing. They are understanding about that.
So just try it!

So the true test is going up to a gay boy or boy and doing something extreme like a kiss, talk about a emotional thing then go for it. If you dont like it then your just having Gay thoughts, if you do like it then, Hello Bi-Curious, Im not making fun of you. You need to find out cause this will ruin your social life.

The fact of the matter may be, you MIGHT be gay, hell you might be bisexual. In either case theres nothing wrong with that (at least in my point of view, and should be yours too!).

You can either persue it, and see what comes of it, or try to ignore it.
