Will a police offercome to handle a 8 year old

my neighbor had a 8 year old child that wont listen to her mouthing off, disabeying etc i told her to call poice station and have them send an officer to the home to talk to child but she dont think they will does any one know if they will or if and officer is reading this let me know she needs one or this girl will end up getting into a fight and have more trouble. i need this answered to day if possibly thank you

Police officers get calls for "incorrigable juveniles" all the time. They speak with the parents, then speak with the juvenile, then offer the parents options that are available to them, such as counseling programs in the area or school. If possible, contact the SRO (School Resource Officer) or DARE officer assigned to the childs school.

your neighbor may have more luck making an appointment with the local police juvenile deparment to drag her sassy little butt down there for a talking too. that will scare her into straightening out. i did it with my now 12 yr old two years ago, have had no trouble with him since.

I hate parents who call me to come and discipline their child for them, it really ticks me off. They are the parents it is their job, not mine. I can't fix 10 yrs of bad parenting in 10 minutes. When I get a call like that I normally chew out the so called "parent".

Police are not referees. If she can't handle an 8 year old, what about next year? She needs to file an "unmanageable child" report with the local DCS. They have counselors that can talk to the child.

I would show up and "discipline" the mother for not having control of her child. Nothing pisses me off more than having to parent another person's child.

They may or may not, depending on local policy and time available. Most departments will try to work with you and will at least direct the mother to local resources.
