Should I bother trying to get with my ex-gf again?

I met this girl at a party a little while ago. We had some obvious chemistry so I gave her and some friends a ride home. I found out she was single so i asked her friends about her. All of her friends found me pretty funny and were ok with me talking to her.

At first she was against dating. She said she had just gotten out of a pretty shaking 4-5 month relationship, wasn't ready to date again and would rather be friends. Within the next two weeks shes chanting that im the greatest guy ever and that she doesn't deserve me and we start dating.

She turns out to be completely bipolar, insane, unstable etc. But I don't really mind it. When shes in a good mood we have a lot of fun together, but the slightest issue will blow up into a ridiculous argument. Eventually it got to the point that she was threatening to break it off almost twice a week, but then the next day call apologizing about how stupid the fight was and that she was sorry.

Last two days of the relationship; After our last fight she confesses that the fights are stupid and wants to make an agreement to not fight anymore. Next day we are hosting a BBQ at a public park for friends and shes completely drunk whining that im not talking to her. We're with alot of friends and i knew it was gonna turn into one of our dumb fights so i pretty much blew her off, this of course made it blow up into a bigger fight later. Shes drunk, demands i take her home, calls me from home and leaves a voicemail saying "Im done, im done, i cant do this anymore, i cant handle being in a relationship, i cant be with you anymore."

Its been about a week since then, I was upset so i cut off all contact, deleted my myspace, uninstalled aim, i had just gotten a new phone so i never got a chance to give her my new number. One day while i was at work I impulsively flirted with a customer and got her number, but when i called the girl and we were talking the only thing in my mind was my ex. I didnt want to feel like i had lost anything, seeing as how she was a bipolar alcoholic nut job, but i do miss that crazy lady and i want her back now. Its probably not in my best interest but i dont have anything to distract me from this obviously destructive path.

I got in contact with her again via aim, didn't give her my cell specifically to not open up such a interruptible channel of communication with her. We both apologized about a few things and i ended up telling her i wanted to be friends but warned her that I would end up wanting to be with her again.
The fights are all so juvenile, and the good times were good.

Should i bother trying to get back with her despite the obvious issues that it will cause? I always told her i thought it was worth the problems, she agreed but then ended up pushing me away and dropping everything because she couldn't handle it.

I tend to be a bit long winded sometimes. In short, we had some issues, when we were together she claimed the issues didn't outweigh the good stuff, then we broke up. I want her back.

That was really long, so i didnt read the whole thing. I know that i have an ex that would NOT stop asking me to date him again, and it just didnt work in the end. Dont bother, just try to move on.
