Quit my first day on the job- will I get paid??

I quit my job after the first day because the place didn't turn out to be the way they explained it would. I was under the impression I'd be a receptionist...instead I ended up being a medical assistant. They said it'd be temporary but the girl training me said they told her all the same stuff and 5 months later, she's still a crappy medical's assistant. There are loong hours, no overtime, handling needles...i never even went to skool for this type of stuff.

Also, I got another job offer with a company more related to my field. that I'll be starting tomorrow.

Anyway, I called where I worked for a day...they didnt pick up so I left a message saying I'm sorry, I got another job but thank you..etc etc. They havent gotten back to me (I'm guessing they might be upset).

I'm wondering if I should call back later and ask them if they'll pay me the one day I work? Has anyone ever been paid for quitting after one day??

they have to pay you for the day. its the law. if they dont call the labor board.

If you punched the time clock and filled out the various withholding forms, they have to pay you.

you work the day you get paid period. if you have to turn in some kind of time card that may be your responsiblity to follow thru on

You should get paid for the time you worked.

They should pay you.
By the way, what does this have to do with Marriage & Divorce?

U should get paid.
