School Check?

Okay, so, pubic lice is going around at my school, you know, because of sharing towels and clothes and irresponsible children having sex and use of public toilets. So, our school doesn't want it spread further so they are doing an honest to god pubic lice check! They will send home anyone they find with it. I know i dont have it, for sure. I have never had sex and since this started, I check myself every day, but I really don't want the nurse checking me out like that. The government approved this and you need to have a signed slip to be checked. My mom signed it and wants me checked. I told her I dont have it. She says, "Well I want you checked because you could be lying to me," and she called the school telling them to call her if i dont show up for the check! What will i do! I cant handle the nurse looking at me down there! I just can't!

OMG! I just checked myself and I might have it! I REAllY dont want to go now! HELP!

Thats personal, and i think the school shouldnt be doing things like that, they should send a notice home, saying it going around, not checking everyone, its your body you can say no to anyone about that, its not a parent or teacher decsion, its yours, no matter what age, but i suppose if you refused the check, people would think you had it also, but i would either get a slip from your real doc saying you dont have it, or just never go

I don't even see how that could be remotely legal.

I would refuse or just shave off the hair and be like there is no posible way I could have it.

This wouldn't fly too well with me and I would refuse. Id show up to the check and tell them I refuse because I KNOW i dont have it.

But serisously just shave it off and be like there isn't any possible way I have it.

Then when you get home just be like "Mom, Im really disappointed in you, you don't trust me and that really hurts and you would stoop so low to allow them to violate my personal space for your own personal benefit"

Tell your mom to take you to the doctor is she doesn't believe you. Also, the government shouldn't of approved this! Its a very personal thing, and it is YOUR body. If they have such trust issues, thinking that people have crabs, tell them to get a decent medical degree!

Ok....Now that is just sick and weird. I didn't even know that was legal. If that ever happened at my school I would freak if I had to be forced into it. This is time to rebel... don't even go in the room they are doing the lice check in. They can't like grab you and rip off your pants... that would be like...f*cked up and illegal.

They can't force you into that. It's illegal.

Is that even real, I don't think that school would take intrest in something like that... Besides I have no idea how do they acctualy know that. And goverment would never agree for such a thing. That would be illegal to have students get checked by force.

I've never heard of that sort of thing before. School shouldn't be involved with the sexual life of it's students. All I can say is not to worry. The nurse has probably seen everything and your's is no different.

I'm going to say that the school doesn't have a right to check, but in case they do, I would go to my doctor to get it checked instead. I trust my doctor more than a school nurse.

you can go to your own doctor and have your doctor check. and pubic lice is very small so i doubt youll even see it. but well your there, ask to check the nurse ;]

oooh that's awkward! but its better to be safe then sorry. it's better to have them check and say that you're fine then o not check and have lice.

Oh wow I feel really sorry for you!
Just tell them that you feel uncomfortable with that and have your parents write you a note excusing you from the check.

HA. You actaully have to have forms signed? We don't, they just do it without even telling us. It happens often, and there doesn't even have to be an outbreak!

thats weird i didnt think any school could even get into that kind of a thing. are you in high school? The school should leave that kind of a thing alone. Doesn't seem right and legal.

There's nothing we can do to help. I'm sorry, but your mom has already signed it. Your just going to have to deal with it.

Close your eyes, and it will be over fast. Everyone has to have a doctor look at you at one time or another, so you might as well get used to it now. You can't get out of it, and since you KNOW you don't have it, then you have one less thing to worry about. People have doctors look at them there every single day. Don't they check that area for physicals?? My best advice - tell the nurse it makes you uncomfortable, and you know you don't have it. Maybe she'll let you go. If she doesn't, at least she knows that you aren't comfortable, and won't put you through too much trauma.

One way you could get rid of them would be to shave down there, and on the same day, wash your bed sheets, blankets, stuffed animals *or put them in trash bag or another air tight container, vaccum your room, and wash a few clothes.

Your mom should trust you about this. Does she seem to have other trust issues with you? If so, or if she's acting strangely, you might want to talk to your school counselor about it. There could be something deeper going on there. She should undersand that you do not feel comfterbal with this, and even if you did have them, that you're willing to suffer through them or figure out a way to get rid of them yourself without haveing complete strangers look at your private parts.

If worse comes to worse, convince her to take you to her gynochologist/doctor.

Anyway, that would be a complete dishonoring of student confidentiality. I would shave it...that way you can refuse it.
