Please help???

My boyfriend of 2.5 years broke up with me for good 1 month ago. I believe that he's afraid of committment but won't admit it. He is in his mid 40's and has never been married. He wanted to be friends (tried for 2 weeks before the final break up) but I couldn't handle it because I felt as though we were still together (calling me everyday and wanting to hang out with me). So we decided that it was best not to talk often in order to facilitate a healthy break up. I have not heard from him since then, but he contacted my family on Mother's Day. He also stopped by my grandparents house last Sunday and signed a tract letting them know that he was there. Why is he doing this? This confuses me...it makes me feel like he may want to reconcile. At the same time, it's like I don't want to be with you anymore, but I'd still like to be friends with your family. Some of my friends say that he misses me and others say he's trying to get me to reach out to him. What do you guys think?

Most likely, he still wants to be with you. If you've broken up, I think the most healthy thing you could do is make it clear to him that you don't like him hanging around your family, because you aren't together anymore. He might just like your family... especially if he doesn't feel comfortable/doesn't have his own family. If you want to be with him, then you should tell him, and get back together.
