My friend likes my boyfriend - I think we're a little to old for this! How should I handle this? |
Alright so my freind, H moved back after being involved with a guy for about 5 years. He did her real dirty played a bunch of games & cheated on her. She has been back for about 3 months now, & has met my boyfriend before but she helped us move acouple of weeks ago & got to spend sometime around him. We tried to introduce her to his friend, who is real patient & understands that she has been through a lot & willing to take his time with her. She has expressed an interest in starting to date again & was interested in meeting his friend. But the problem is she seems to really like my boyfriend & she is playing games about meeting his friend. She keeps on asking about him but then doesn't call him so he finally called her & she got off the phone with him all quick & told me that she was turned off by him calling. I have decided to drop the whole thing but she has brought his friend up again. She also keeps on bringing up the fact that my bf owes her a meal as a thank you for her helping u us move. It was a last minute thing she drove us around the whole day. She told HIM not me that he has to cook her dinner as a thank you. I told him that WE could all go out for dinner & that would be our way of thanking her. I am not concerned about my boyfriend cheating on me, but I do know that my friend can be kind of dirty. So how should I handle her, should I say something to her about it or should he? Or both? I can almost read between the lines. Your friend has had a very hard experience and maintained a loyalty to a man who was gamesplayer. She now thinks, perhaps not consciously, that most men are like that, including your bf. She also seems to think that games play is acceptable behavior, and she is probably lonely and figures a fling with your bf would be safer than going with someone she might actually fall for... She knows your bf is taken, but is not sure what taken really means because her bf showed her a different picture of male behavior. ok. i didnt read all that. BUT! im here to save the world and i look fab. n e ways. i think if your freind is truley your friend she will back off and let you be happy. *smiley face* and then of coarse when you breack up she will snach him but you know thats life.*frownie face* this happened to me. confront her. if she is a true friend (it might take a while) but she will relize that a friedship is better then your BF. hah Dump the friend, she has to much drama and too much baggage. Kick her out. It has been 5 years. Stab her! He's YOUR guy! Yea, I've got a friend like that. Tell her and her big ol head to back off!!!!! Um don't trust her!! I've been there, and it sounds like she's moving in on ur man!! tell her she needs to back off! its ur bf, right? u dont have to take that! the both of u need to tlk with ur friend...she is such a ***** well, this can be tricky...alot of things go into play, 1st how long have you been friends? if its awhile, you should know how she is, if she plays Dirty!!! If that's the case, There should always be cardinal Rule-never date any of your girls , current /and or x-boyfriends.. beat this chick at her own game........next time she brings up that your bf owes her a meal just tell her the only woman getting a meal from him is you....she will try to get defensive and make it seem like you are accusing her of liking your bf or being jealous but it gets your point across loud and clear. As far as your bf's friend, I would end all discussion about it....if she asks about him I would say he is real busy with his family/work/ school and leave it at that. I think your friend needs attention, and prob the failed relationship makes it even worst BUT at the same time, she is not being much of a friends and you should slowly pull away from her.........good luck if you think shes a good friend talk to her. tell her that he's YOUR man not hers. if i were you i wud be pissed nd kick her @$$. but nywyz also tell him to be careful around her and watnot. tell her that if she doesnt atleast try to go out w/ your bf's friend then shes not gonna hv a vry happy life. nd tell her to STOP LOOKIN AT UNAVAILABLE MEN! Well you should talk to your friend and try to hook her up with someone better then her jerk of an ex, and hope that she will understand and back off, if she thinks he owes her a meal make sure you go with them (just in case).Hope this helped, good luck! I think you should go to your friend first and ask her if she is attracted to your boyfriend. Don't make any rash decisions and if she does say that she likes your boyfriend, just explain to her that he is your boyfriend and you would like it if she backed off a bit in trying to pursue your boyfriend when he's clearly already taken. If she doesn't stop, then get your boyfriend to talk to her about it. Hope everything works out. =) |
