My best friend's husband is crazy? |
My best friend has been married to her husband for a little over a year. I know she loves him because I've never seen her do as much for a man as she's done for him. She's gotten into even more debt since they've been married because he was not working for a while. He seems to have forgotten about all she went through. Now that he's gotten on his feet he makes comments to her that she would lose her house or be in jail over debts if it wasn't for him which is not true because he doesn't even pay half of their bills. She wants a divorce but she can't even get him to agree on terms of a marital settlement with her because he thinks she's plotting to hurt him. He once accussed her of hitting him to her father. This was a lie. She always calls crying about how he's managed to twist her words and fly off the handle with some crazy accusation. She wants to be done but he's making it hard. What can she do? I'm seeing some great answers so far. I hope that she's really ready to be done with him this time. She keeps saying that she can't take it and is ready to be done, but somehow they always manage to "reconcile". I just want her to be happy and be the person I've knew her to be for 6 years before she married this man. He seems to be draining her of her great spirit. First, Im just glad to hear she is getting out now, what an insecure man he turned out to be, turning the tables around to make his *** look better is b.s. She needs to get a lawyer! I know it can be pricy, considering her situation she would probably qualify for Legal Aid. Good Luck to her and good ridance to him. If she wants a divorce then nothing is stopping her except fear and insecurity. You need to assure her that she will be better off without him without getting into the details of each and every argument they have. No one should be this unhappy. Give her the name of a good lawyer. He has taken advantage of her and her emotions. He is abusing her mentally and emotionally draining her. She needs to get out now and seek refuge, see a lawyer and hit this jerk with divorce papers. Geez, what a prat. There should be a little island for all the controlling men to go and live on together. Seek the advice of a good divorce..... attorney..... she should go in court and legally get divorce from him. tell her to get a lawyer to discuss the problem with.. geez hope she can get out from the hell she is in now.. Leave him as soon as possible ... then make decision to divorce she needs a lawyer...one who hates men.. The best way out is to end this relationship.. but it seems difficult outright becoz the man is not agreeable for a quiet settlement.. which means he is either scared or insecure to get out of the wedlock. Also it cud be that he knows that ur friend loves him..but just wants more proof on it.. some men especially humiliate and act ungrateful on their wives when they don't get enough attention.or importance WOW, been there done that..don't let this man scare your friend, have her speek to lawyer and file for a divorce. Have your friend stay with you until she finds a place of her own, if your friends takes her debts to court he will have to pay at least half of the debt because they are married, and consumed they debt together. This whole thing with hitting on dad blah..blah he is trying to change the subject of divorce , it's no use for your friend to argue with her husband this is all that should be comming out of your friends mouth when talking to her husband "speek to my laywer" and walk away. |
