HELP PLEASE!!!! ( teens in bbyo or that are Jewish, )? |
I'm in a youth group called bbyo. It's not really a youth group of sorts, more of a world wide organization. Tonight are my chapter elections and I'm running for a position called Sh'licha. Which is the president of Judaism (prayers and such) and of community service/social action. The point is....I have no idea what to do for my speech! My platform is done and I have a couple good ideas but I just don't know how to put it all together. Someone please give me a few helpful thoughts! I'm freaking out a bit here, I know I can handle the position & that I'm good at it because this would be my second time doing it, but the first time I ran off the floor so I didn't have to do a speech. Look at issues related to the youth in the area, and try to discuss these from a Jewish POV. Show how you would combine the Jewish input with the relevance to their everyday life. Without knowing specifics, I cannot really get more detailed than that. Don't worry about your speech. Run off the floor again. Good luck come in threes. You can try it two more times. Good luck and good running. Talk about the Book of Ruth, Shavuot (Pentecost), the giving of Torah. If they're Jewish they will understand. Run on the platform - "A Knish in every pot!" |
