Need advice for confronting a friend? |
My best friend of 6 years has always been one to exagerate. he got married about a year ago (or so i thought) and has always told me that his wife hated me, discouraged me from talking to her, etc. so she left him the other day, and he told me something about her i simply didnt believe... so i called her and asked if it was true. it wasnt. we ended up meeting face to face and discovered that pretty much everything he ever told either of us was a lie. they in fact weren't even married! how should i confront him about this? his wife actually wants to do it together but idk. i feel guilty, too, although hes the one that told lie upon lie about me and lied to me straight to the face (i believe hes been doing it for years.) he's obviously a compulsive liar and somewhat volatile. he doesnt know that weve spoken yet... how should i handle this? also, he's been a bit suicidal lately. I am not sure I would confront him. You know that he is pathological liar now and that should be enough for both you and his ex-girlfriend/wife to just move on. Why rub salt in a wound. Your friend that lies needs help. |
