What is wrong with my aunt? Some kind of personality disorder? Is she losing it?

Facts about her:

-66 years old.
-tries to control every aspect of my life. Reads my bills, comes to my house to see if I put the garbage out, watches from her window to see if I do the laundry. Calling me if I seem to be slacking in any of this.
-She always says rude things, and she doesn*t even realize they are rude, or thinks it*s okay.
-Thinks everything I tell her is a lie. Even something stupid like when I wake up.
-Insults my parenting skills and tells me I can*t handle my own home because I didn*t make dinner for my family one night.
-If I disagree with anything shesays, she freaks out and says I think I*m a smart a** but I don*t know anything.
-Tells me my boyfriend is going to leave me when he experiences the real world.
-She goes shopping and buys me stuff at the store that I don*t even ask her to get and then she expects me to pay for them.
-Constantly contradicting herself.
-Assumes things are happening in my household that aren*t and then yells at me for things I dont do

I think your aunt may feel insecure about her own life and accomplishments. She is projecting them on to you i.e. if she can "fix" you she will "fix" herself. Its probably all subconscious and doesnt even realize she is doing it or why she is doing it. You might try complementing her on her some things she does in her own life and see if it makes any difference. I just know that when people who are super critical like that it has more to do with them than you.

I would add that you should physically distance yourself from this woman. Life is too short for such people.
If you can't move, then always have an excuse not to see her or talk with her. (On the way out the door, dinner is cooking, you're not feeling well right now, etc...)
Then get the restraining order. :o/

sounds like you need to set some bounderies with her and let her know you are an adult and quite capable of handling your own responsiblities.If she doesn't respect the bounderies you set,then forbid her from coming over.

Has she always been like that? Sounds like she is just an old cow with nothing better to do with herself.

WOW! Sorry to say but your I think your Aunt has some issues...put her in prayers and be nice to her. I doubt she really means most of the things she says/does.

your aunt has one bad case of bitchiness. you need to get rid of her pronto.

menopause...you'll make it ....wait until u go through it... and age makes you a little arrogant sometimes because you really can see how some things are going to end up

No she's a control freak. Time to get rid of her, but unfortunately, I can't help you on that part...
