Who did more to ruin Kwame Brown's career: MJ, Kobe, or Kwame himself?

I guess I should explain this one. Kwame was just a kid when Jordan drafted him #1 overall. He was 6'11'' and very quick for his size, but also immature and extremely raw. Kwame was kind of disappointing from the beginning, and you could tell from his body language that he lost his confidence. Kwame would have a bad game, get booed by the fans, and then at practice Jordan would berate him whenever he made a mistake. Jordan wouldn't let up even when Kwame was working hard and trying to improve, and no one called Jordan out because he was a legend. By drafting Kwame #1, he made it his responsibility to mentor Kwame; instead he humiliated him.

Then Kwame went to the Lakers. Kobe's a terrible teammate, or at least he used to be, and he handled the situation with Kwame about as poorly as possible. It wouldn't surprise me if Kobe abused Kwame more than Jordan did, especially after that video of Kobe ripping Bynum. Kwame must have felt like it was Washington all over again.

A lot of people are bringing up Kwame's softness, which is fair because Kwame is definitely soft on this level. Kwame was probably too sensitive about criticism from Jordan...then again I don't know how I would react if the GOAT was in my face calling me a loser. And shouldn't Jordan have recognized that Kwame was sensitive before drafting him #1? Kwame does not have the talent to become an all-star, but he could have developed into a valuable role player if the stars on the team had handled the situation better and built up Kwame's admittedly fragile self-esteem.

Im from the DC area so i seen it all. I grew up a Bullets/ Wizards fan and i was so excited for us to get the 1st pick overall. When i found out who we were gonna draft i was very nervous. His high school stats were like 21 pts a game. We waited for years to finally see this guy emerge but never did. He was drafted in 2001 and still isn't good. Look at the other high school athletes that came out after him that are all stars. Amare, D Howard, LeBron.

It was a tough draft though. We didn't know the other players in the draft would be good like Chandler, Curry and Gasol. So it was a weak draft. I blame Jordan for drafting a high school player to our team. Our city didn't deserve that.

As far as Jordan humiliating him....Everyone knows Jordan wants to bring the best out of everyone. I think it was just contructive critizism from the GOAT. I think Kwame was too soft. Many NBA players have overcome this. Kwame is 26 yrs old now. So its no excuse.

I don't know about the LA days though. I know we stole Butler in a trade thank god

Kwame is a lazy *** looser he had 9 million reasons to get his *** in the gym and practice. If that is not going to make you learn how to catch a ball, or not miss a slam dunk nothing will.

O by the way Kobe told the Laker fans not to boo Kwame even after he deserved it. Kobe should get more credit for taking Kwame and Smush Parker into the playoffs.

Its not that deep kwame is just a bust plain and simple .......jordan drafted him on the fact he had an nba body and what he could become if their is fault its kwames who care if jordan yells at you practice harder play better .....work on your skill set .......brown is still just 25 and can become a solid player but its on him to put in the work .....some of the best players in the game have been booed and it just made them step their game up.

He ruined himself. He even said to Jordan that he wouldn't regret the pick. Jordan had to be hard on him. He is too lazy and undisciplined. Also even though he was like the best player in Georgia he should of went to Florida which was the college he committed to develop his skills.

Blame his mother and father for his genes. He simply does not have the talent. Don't blame Kobe, in this case he was right. Kobe was out there taking a beating and Kwame is daydreaming.

Kwame...he sold out...he accomplished his life long dream of making it to the NBA and then pulled out his beach chair and corona and sat there admiring himself.

Kwame did it to himself. Because from high pressure diamonds are created and trash is exposed. Kwame wasnt even trash he is dumpster juice the stuff left over after trash is empty. Thats my new phrase "DUMPSTER JUICE"

Jordan wins again. Jordan picked him when he was the GM and wanted to prove how great he thought he was. I never heard Kobe complain about Brown, never heard him talk about how they blew it by trading Butler.

I am tired about people using the argument that his hands are too small, he had the same ailment as the tin man, no heart.
