How would you handle this, and what do you think about this? |
I recently met this guy, and we have been talking, but will not go out on our first date until Monday. He is out of town at Bike Week, and I thought that since we have not been talking that long that I would talk to him when he got back thinking that's what guys would want, but also because I am a bit of a loner, and don't mind being by myself so naturally I don't have to talk to you every day. The guy just called me, and let me have it. He said that no matter what he's doing he would like to make time for me, and was a little disappointed that I would be ok with going 4 or 5 days without talking to him if we are trying to start something off. I am use to being by myself so I am not sure if he is being needy, controlling, selfish or all of the above or am I just not attentive enough. I told him that his energy was very negative and unfair and he apologized and admitted that he was being a little passive aggressive, but what would you make of this. He never said you better call me it was more 鈥渨hy didn鈥檛 you call me鈥? He never said you had to call me it was more 鈥淚 would really like for you to call me鈥? He never said you better talk to me it was more 鈥淚 really enjoy and look forward to talking to you鈥? but initially the way he was coming at me made me want to go back to my hood days on him, but he said he was sorry. It鈥檚 like he wants me to be one of those {what you doing, where are you going, when are you coming back} kind if girls, and I just have never been, but he likes and wants that. What do you call that? If he can't handle an independent woman, if I were you, I wouldn't become dependent just to please him! Most guys would LOVE to find someone who isn't clingy and overbearing, wanting to know where they were and what they were doing 24/7. Stay true to yourself, and if he is too needy you need to drop him like a hot potato! no! he just likes you so he wants to spend time with you! don't take it as being controlling! if you don't want to do anything with him just say that you have alot on your schedule and you would rather the two of you do something when he gets back. Wow, you haven't even gone on your first date yet and he's already chewing you up one side and down the other for not calling him? maybe try to give him a little more attention. relationships are about compromise. if he acts really possessive and controlling, then you know his deal. I never understand why people can't be more concise X__X. I think that he is jealous As a male, I think that you have a normal person, not being selfish or anything. It is a two way street, guys like attention just as much as males, and he most likely feels unwanted by you seeming not to care. Though it may be a little clingy since you didn't really even start dating or anything, I wouldn't look too far into it. He might be thinking there is already some type of unsteadiness as well. I think the question is do you really want someone in your life or do you just want to be left alone? Try to get a relationship going takes talking and wanting to talk. Sounds like some what your afraid of being hurt or getting to close and being left alone. Give this guy a chance face to face and see how it comes about and if you still feel the same then let him go his way and you go yours. You present him as beign positive and negative at first. he can't be both. If he wants more communication than your willing to give that should be a sign for BOTH of you. Just explain to him that this is who you are, give him some background on your life so that he can better understand. Honey, you are so much further ahead of the game understanding and being comfortable with being by yourself. Please don't let this guy make you forget that. Well, to be honest, his reaction isn't the greatest sign in the world. It seems like he's expecting someone you're not. Also, just from a surface reaction (so I could be totally off), it seems like he's the more emotional type and you seem to be a little more laid back. I would talk to him and let him know who you are. However, if he "flipped out" because you didn't call him, you may have to choose your words carefully. So when you talk to him try to start your sentences with the phrase "I think" or "I feel." Example: "I think your reaction to me not calling was unfair." I wouldn't say that exactly, but that's just an example anyways. I hope I helped, good luck!! Insecure. |
