What can I do about the nosy woman in the next cubicle who constantly eavesdrops on every call I handle? |
I have a technical service job where we advise people on the phone. She asks questions about what I said to this one or that one. Transfer every incoming call to her extension, that oughta keep her busy. Or take her aside, in caring confidence of course, and say I notice you ask me a lot of questions about my calls, do you need some help or extra training classes? I could talk to our boss for you about it if you are embarrassed. You should have a little fun and exercise your creative thinking. Sounds like you've tried the reasonable options old chap. Actually, if she quizzes you maybe it's because of the quality of your work which she wants to emulate and learn from. You should take it as a compliment. What gets me, is how she has time to eavesdrop - doesn't she do any work herself? One solution may be to have a "pretend" call to your boss, which she overhears, about her constant questioning and the fact that it is affecting your concentration. That might be enough. Ask your supervisor if you can switch cubicles or ask him to move her |
