4.40am Kitty Wake Up Call. Please Help?

We have 2 cats (boy & girl). Every morning 4.40am for the past few months Tilly has been meowing her head off, She jumps up on the bed and puts her wet nose in my face and occasionally will bite my cheek to get me up, so we will let het outside.

She has food and a clean litter box, It is checked every night.
Monty is not bothered at all and is usually asleep on my leg and only goes Out coz Tilly does
They are both out all day but I shut the cat flap about 9.30pm, so they have to stay in at night.

I know we have been foolish getting up every monring and letting her out, But I need help in stopping it.
Shutting them in another room is not an option as we live in a small flat and can still hear her. I have also tried shutting out of our bedroom but she has scratches at the door and jumps at the handle.

Please Please Please can anyone help? I need sleep :-(

Both Tilly and Monty have been *done*.

When my cat attempts to train me to do something I don't want to be trained to do, I play dumb. For instance, she decided that any time anyone goes into the kitchen, it means they have to give her treats, and she began to be *very* annoyingly noisy and naggy. So I pretended I thought she meant that she wanted to be picked up and snuggled (which drives her crazy after a while), and after a few days she gave up on me, thinking me hopelessly stupid. You might try grabbing Tilly when she comes in and wakes you, and holding her until she squirms to be let loose. If she doesn't, and falls asleep, that's a peaceful solution too. If she does, she may eventually stop coming and waking you because she'll realize that will get her grabbed and held still. Worth a try, anyway! Good luck.

This is why my 2 arent allowed to have the run of the house overnight, they do the same thing! Theyre shut in the kitchen overnight with food, littertray and bed and what do you know? Sleep for me!! we live in a 1bedroom flat and they know what the score is. Dont let them run your life! :D xx

He he we have this problem - as soon as it gets light (very early in Finland) ours wake up and demand breakfast / letting out to hunt hares.

We bought earplugs and a very loud alarm clock. Simple! Oh and I have to sleep with the quilt over my head....

Smack it on the chest when it annoys you. I know it sounds mean but so are shock collars and and choke leads.

why not keep cat flap open
