Who can i call to check on my current separation / divorce in alberta canada? |
My spouse handled all the paperwork from a workbook for making us legally separated in Alberta Canada (edmonton). I thought all the papers were filed before I returned to the states. I was supposed to receive a final divorce decree in the mail in March 08. We filed during the first week of March, 07.. My ex now says she has one more paper to send in and she isn't going to do it (just being very difficult). Who can I contact in Edmonton to check on the separation and if any additional papers need to be issued? We were only married for 1 week before we filed for separation / divorce. There must be some goverment agency that I can call to get a status on our divorce proceedings? My last resort is to hire an attorney and have him do it all for me again. I just need to see what is the status and if there is any forms yet to be filled out and issued. Thank you your lawyer |
