I just want him to call ... am I asking too much?

My boyfriend of 2 years went to the city this weekend to hang out with one of his friends. His friend's group are a bunch of violent childish guys who can't handle their alcohol, and I know I'm being motherly but I can't help but worry when he's with them. I asked him to call me last night when he got there - he never did. He called this morning and said he got in late and didn't want to wake me up last night (fair enough..) He promised he'd call tonight when he finds out when he's coming home. It's 4am now, I tried calling his cell but it's off and I am beside myself. I know deep down he's fine but the point is he knows I am a huge worrier and he knew I would be up all night imagining all the horrible things that could have happened. Is wanting him to take 30 seconds out of his schedule of chugging whiskey and breaking stuff really so much to ask? This is not the first time it's happened and I know it won't be the last. I don't know -- I guess I just needed to rant.

-hugs-
never mind, it's not a cause for worry yet.
maybe he'll call you back a few days later.
as long as it's not longer than a week i don't think it's a cause for worry.

Lay off his back. If the friends are too much for you to handle you shouldnt be with him. My point is, everyone needs their personal friend space without having your gf checking up on you. Think about this, if they are violent drunks etc, are you really helping by having him check in and look like he is whooped? Your worrysomeness is kinda ur problem, not his...
I know its blunt, but what u had to hear

You seem to want him to check in for the right reasons, so in my opinion, I don't think it's too much to ask. Hope he calls soon so you can quit worrying. Good luck!
