How would you handle it if you're 16 yr. old son called you a B*tch?

That's just it, I wouldn't know how to handle it aside from being shocked. I've never used a bad word at my parents. I never swore at them, much less swear at all. People who know me can attest to that.

Let me try:
Keeping an open line of communication is vital. No matter how difficult it is for you, I think you need to sit him down (just him) and have a serious talk with him. He needs to know that sort of language is not OK, and he needs to realize that there are other ways of expressing himself because you raised him to be able to think and be respectful. Let him know it's ok if he feels anger and hurt, sometimes life isn't all filled with happy jelly beans, but no matter what, you are his mother and he is your son. He'll always hold a special place in your heart for him, and you'll always love him. Ask him if something is bothering him. Why is he lashing out in anger at you? He's a teen, chances are something else is the root of his anger toward you. Or the typical "it's not fair" statement is all he'll say. Also explain to him you're not perfect, you're human and you make mistakes too. This might make him think "yeah, I guess mom knows she isn't perfect, I already knew that." But agreeing is a good start.
