Is friendship a duty?

I have this friend that I have known for 2 years already.
The first time I met this person he used to call me up to 30 times a day if I wouldnt answer the phone. Its been 2 years since and he still sometimes trys to call me 20 times a day If I dont answer. and when he calls He says the most stupidest things I cant handle...for example he will call and tell me what I did today and did I go to school, even on saturdays and sundays, and Im getting tired us this stupidity , Im being patient with this person. he knows I go to school monday through friday. also, he would and still, trys to call me in teh middle of the night, When Ive got a school day. its pissing me off. Im just thinking to myself about him, are you retarded or something. he makes me so angry but I never show it. sometimes when he calls , he asks the same dumb ******* questions to me and i tell him please dont ask me that same question and he repeats the words, are you mad? are you mad? are you mad?

and he will start to cry.. Im not joking guys..
he will cry and say my name in a childish kinda way like (george is mad?) and he will cry... literally. I just dont wanna deal with a 30 year old man, who acts and talks like a litle girl anymore.

Friendship is not a duty. You should end your friendship if your not happy. I would suggest you tell him that you no longer want to be friends with him, so he doesn't call you nonstop. But since he does seem to have a mental problem i think he will be calling you, so you should change your number.

He probably has mental health issues. And if you cant stand this person you shouldnt be talking to him and leading the friendship on. Tell him gently that you would prefer not to talk to him and if he continues to call, change your phone number.

Him calling you 20 rimes a day is called harrassment.
The guy has mental health issues and needs serious help

My guess is he's got some psychological problems...maybe you should talk to him about it and possibly refer him to a doctor?
