He threatened me?

I work at a recreation center, Im a belayer and a birthday host. I play soccer where I work too. I hang out a lot at the other games on the other days because im trying to get into sports supervising as well, so I go and hang out with my supervisor and fill in for her while she goes and does stuff at her desk for a few games, sort of like training.

Sunday, I worked from 10 to 530 and stayed (after I clocked out) to watch some soccer games. There were some major problems between some of the players and one of the referees, which resulted in both parties filing incident reports.

The goalie had been fouled by another player on the opposite team but kept the advantage, the ref acknowledged the foul and told them to keep playing. The goalie talked to the referee afterwards and the goalie said the ref said that he didn't see it. The goalie filed an incident report, the ref filed one because the goalie was harrassing him.

Again, I was not working, I still had on my work shirt and my ID though. I was left after that game, when I was leaving I had to go to the desk and grab my things and then go.

The goalie was filing the report when I walked by and he kind of brought me into the conversation because he had asked me what I had seen and all of this other stuff. He explained me his side of the story and what went on.

I was agreeing with him up until he had said "then I told that other player what I really thought of him". I told him that you can't do that because that starts more problems and then fighting happens. I told him that you need to keep comments to yourself out there because it makes things escalate and get worse.

After I said that my mom called my phone, I HAD to answer her call. When I got off the phone the man was saying to a guy I worked with that I was "arguing" with him and that he was trying very hard to not do anything to me because I was a girl.

I wasn't arguing with him and left because I didn't want to argue with him.

I came back to work later that night because my brother wanted to go to open hockey skate. The soccer games were still going on and I went and told the referees what happened. The supervisor that was there had told me one of the earlier witnesses had came by and talked to him and said something about that I should have filed a report on that man too so I did.

I talked to the referee and he said that he had seen what went on but he and the man had a different perspective on the intentions and the way things really happened, which is normal seeing as they are two different people. I agree with the referee.

1. I know I wasn't arguing with him, but what do you think?

2. Do you think that man overreacted?

3. Would you take that comment as a threat?

4. How do you think I handled the situation?

5. Who was right?

6. Who was right the man or the referee?

im 18 and the other ref is maybe in his 30's.

1) you were not but you should have just walked away
2) Yes but that is soo not your problem adn you do not need to worry about it
3) Yes but you need to talk to a lawyer and ask him he will know
4) You handled it okay but next time that happens just stay completely out of it
5) You were
6) The Referee most likely because he has had loads of training

I think this doesn't matter whatsoever.
I think that you are over reacting.

SHOULDA THREATEN HIM BACK

and these are the days of our lives.
how old are you?
how old is the other ref?
some people cant handle corrective criticism.
that's life. if there's one thing I've learned...its to don't sweat the small stuff.

well then if he is way older, then he is prolly just mad because someone way younger was telling him how to do his job
