I don't understand any of this. Help?!?

My daughtter, 16, was caught shoplifting yesterday. The police were not called, but they said she was "trespassed". We live in Georgia, if that makes any difference. The Manager told me that she could come in the store but only with her father or I and not leave our side. So how is this trespass thing supposed to work? Does it ever expire? This is the only place to shop in our town and I don't know how to handle this.

it means that your daughter was lucky enough not to have charges pressed against her, and in return for that very gracious and forgiving gesture, all they require is that she not come back on their property without her parents and they monitor her while she is in their store. You may want to ask the store manager if there is a time limit on this especially since she is a minor, hopefully she learned a lesson here.

called 86ed for life. however i was under the impression that it needs to have a law officer present as witness. and then they're telling you it is conditional; that makes no sense, no trepass is not conditional.

i think the daughter needs to personally apologize and offer some means to get back in their good graces.

Be thankful to the store Manager, Over here they call the Police and the shoplifter is banned from the store period!
The Manager was an understanding person in your regards.
Just make sure that your daughter doesn't reapeat the offence otherwise the next time she might not be so lucky.
