My 22 yr old daughter will not communicate with me?

She has been on good terms and bad terms for 4 yrs. Mostly bad. About 90% no communication. I am epileptic. She called me to tell me that she was engaged. I wanted to see the ring. I was in tears of joy (3 yrs ago) She asked if I would pay for the wedding (really my husband) because her dad is a disgrace to her, but requested that I not come for fear I would "have a seizure during the ceremony and disrupt the whole thing" She is since divorced about 3 mos. ago. I still have no contact. Not for lack of trying. Any one that's been in a similar situation? How did you handle it?

You and your husband were united as one when you became married. There is no way you should be dishing out any money to her, nor should she.

You should tell her the door is open when she wants to grow up and try to have a relationship but the purse strings are permanently closed.

She has no respect for you.

My grandma has alzhiemers and chits in her britches and I wouldn't be embarrased to have her go anywhere with me. That is how you treat people you love. Your daughter is a spoiled brat. Don't make it worse by giving her money.

One day she will have kids and she will realize what an azz she is being. Until then, you and your husband live your lives and enjoy each other and let her sink or swim on her own.

My mom could have a butt attached to her forehead that shoots flames and I would proudly have her anywhere with me. She gave me life. She nurtured me. She is my mom.

I wish you were here I would gladly take you with us for mother's day. You can wear a paper sack and banana slippers for all I care.

Your daughter will one day learn and until then you just have to know that you love her and you she knows it, even if she chooses to ignore you. You live your life and you hold up your head proudly and you be the great woman you are. Epilepsy is merely a medical condition. At least you have an excuse when you act differently and you can get medical attention and take medication to semi control it. There is no medical name for your daughter and no medication to control her disease but if they had a name is would rhyme with Witch.

That is unreasonable behavior all the way around.
She is a brat all the way around and you have pandered to her. At 22, after 3 years of marriage, she still hasn't learned about what it takes to make any kind of relationship work.
I certainly would not have paid for the wedding under those circumstances.
I would suggest that you stop being user-friendly and form a wider "family" among your friends.

i think reaching out to her until she wakes up is the only thing i can suggest. afterall, isn't that a Mother's (one of many) best quality? being persistantly patient?
