The 3 hamster babies i asked 2 questions about....?

The mother of my baby hamsterd dieds about an hour ago. here is the situation:
i had a dream some time ago that i see 2 small hamsters in the cage and i hear someone or me say "these 2 survived but the mom died." and then i woke up.

so my hamster gave birth. at first i saw only 2. then i noticed a dead one and i took it out with the spoon. today i saw the mom- didi- dead. i had 2 2day old pups. my best friend and i fed the pups baby milk, and it looks like they are doing...maybe ok. we buried the Didi and we saw that she couldn't give birth to another pup and that's why she died. BTW in the nest we found 2 more dead pups.
My mom called the vet and he said:
1. we can't bring them to another mom - she will eat them.
2. we need to feed them every 2 hours (he didn't say what!)
3. they might survive

in my dream they did so i hope they really would.

can you give some advise about how to handle my case and wish me luck b/c i am gonna be sleeping at least 2 hours less. :((

Well you will need a high protein formula. You could call a vet and ask if s/he has something for them, or you could try to find infant formula (cows milk is no good and will kill them). You'll need an eye dropper that has a small angled tip so you can feed them one drop at a time. Don't feed them too quickly or they will aspirate on it (drown). The leading killer of baby hamsters is loss of body heat. Since they are bald, they need a constant heat source. Try picking up a heat pad and keep it at 90'. Monitor the temp with a thermometer and make sure it is constant. You will have to keep them covered so they are safe and not stressed and you will also have to stimulate them like the mother does, usually the mother licks their stomach to aid in digestion, you may have to gently rub their stomachs with the tip of a wash cloth (not wet) if they are not going to the bathroom. it is not easy, you'll have to do this every hour for 22 days, if you are still in school they will die by the time you get home. So you'll have to find someone who will be dedicated as well! Good luck!

Ya if you give it to another mother, the scent will be different so she'll eat them. I had a similar thing i had baby twin goats who's mother died so i had to get up every 2hrs for them. any who for hamsters the best that i know of is to feed them canned goat milk in fact because its very high in vitamins and nutrition. Most animals do really great with it. and don't feed them baby similac! im also ganna just let you know that the chances of them living more then 3days with out their mother is very slim, and if they do make it, they'll do great after thos 3days! hope that helps!
