What would u do...?? I'm really angry right now!!?

Last week my little girl went for her 10 week check up and she weighed around 12pounds.
She is 12 weeks old today and was born weighing 7.15pounds

The nurse said she's a good weight for her height (she's short)

Anyways I came home with her as happy as ever to hear my kid is deleoping well. Hubby came home from work and I updated him

Then he called his mum.
His mum started shouting him that the baby is too fat and fat babies are ugly
She started saying stuff like wen she's hungry we must rather give her water instead of milk/formula and that she needs to go on a diet as fat babies are really ugly

I'm really really angry right now.

Please someone give me some advice on how to handle this situation

oh forgot to mention
She has a daughter who is in her late 20's and seriously overweight but wont mention tht to anyone

tell her that wen she is a medially trained person u will listen to her and until then keep her trap shut. sont take her to see her either thats an absolutely vile thing to say

Even if your child was overweight, it's horrible for anyone to say that a baby is "ugly and fat", especially the baby's own grandmother. You know that your daughter is healthy, ignore what she has to say, she is an ignorant woman. I hope that your hubby stands up for you and for your child when she says things like that. If not, he better start right quick, or save his phone calls to mum for when you're not around to hear them.

If I were you I would tell her in a completely calm voice that a TRAINED PROFESSIONAL has said that your child/her grandchild is a VERY healthy weight, with her being short and all. And I would probably also include that her genetics helped as much to make the baby as yours did. Also, your daughter will probably slim down as she grows. Another plus is that chubby babies are sometimes the cutest ones, rather than the scary-forced into anorexia-babies.

Well someone took a crazy pill, didn't they? Don't listen to her honey. You are doing fine w/ your baby. Fat babies are not ugly and yours sounds like she is happy and healthy. Never her mind. She keeps it up, just tell her "Thank you for your advice, however, her doctor says she's doing fine and to keep up what I'm doing." That way, you are thanking her for her "advice" (lol! Lack there of!) and you are also telling her to buzz off, but politely! Good luck.
