What do you do with an annoying/immature friend...?

This is a serious quesion. Offtopic, flames, abuse/harassment, and stupid 'answers' like 'idk' or such will be reported.

I've had too many friends in the past (now ex-friends) who refuse to 'tell me the truth'. The problem other than the outright lies, is that it's a 100% definite occurance with each and every new friend!

They always:
Lie about their age.
Make up a boyfriend/friend who doesn't actually exist.
Avoid IMs with me and make up ******** excuses.
Inconsistent with the above lies, then they admit they lied, then they go apesh-t when they're called on it.

How do you deal with girls who (can be 18 or 24) do the above from Day 1 of the friendship, and always fly off the handle over little things, and makes you feel like you've stepped on their toes or you've done something 'wrong' to tick them off so they go into silent treatment mode?

More importantly, on the same level: why do they keep tabs on you for months after a break up and stalk you everywhere? IE: forums, journals e

EDIT: I mean that; in some actual examples, one girl will say she HAS a boyfriend.. but 5 days later she'll tell me that she lied. When I ask why she lied, she'll go aggro and ignore me :(

Well, I dont make friends with people like that, and if it gets on your nerves as much as it does mine than maybe you shouldent either?

Try meeting people in different places than what you are used to, to attract a different sort of person. Try joining a sporting group or hobbie or a new part time job or something? Different places attract different types of people.

It sounds like you are trying to be friends with everyone you meet, which isnt nessesary. These are your aquaintances, so if you just try and do as I said, you might find people more suited to you, and think the same way you do. Dont waste your time with befriending people who clearly dont care about you.... You cant change them, its just who they are....

About the stalking? Change all your online accounts, create new ones, new passwords, make them private... Get a new phone number? If it gets bad, threaten her you will go to the police.... even if you dont... It can be very painfull when someone wont just start leading their own life huh?

i wouldnt harass them back or be angry with them. They are just trying to make themselves look better they are insecure. We all do. If it really bothers you and angers you, stop being friends with them because your anger will escalate trust me. If its just you want them to stop talk about it nicely and realize they are human beings them lying about their personal life is your choice it doesnt affect how good of a friend they are unless they lie about you behind your back or say they will go somewhere and make up excuse, steal your boyfriend ect.

If i were you i would go at it again and see if she acts any different! If she still acts the same then i suggest not doing anything involving her!

SOME girls (not all) keep tabs on you because some of them still have feelings for you!
the other reason is they probably think something is up

you cant really do much, cause you cant change the way that they are. cause they wont change. i think you should dump those friends and eventually find some new ones.
