Problem - HUGE complex visual diagrams/structure charts/flow charts - effectively unreadable?

My boss gets HUGE complicated detailed coloured charts in Excel - boxes, arrows, maps, tree-charts, flow-charts - every day now, last one was 12 (yes TWELVE!) A3 sheets when we printed it all out! And dummy here had to sellotape (:o) all the pages together!

Can this be real? Multiply this one by 30 or so :

Anyone with practical suggestions how to house-train these monster charts? logistically? How are we supposed to print these out and put them into a folder to refer to from time to time when a client calls up with a query, or to study sensibly? We're ending up with dozens of the things & we just have the usual one person = one desk + couple of filing shelves! How does anyone else out there handle these things?

Seems to me pointless putting an excess of information into an inaccessible format, like giving you something with one hand while taking it away with the other?

The link didn't work. Some questions: Do these 'complex' charts come from the same place ? If so, are you in a position to request a different format ? If all these charts contain similar information, can you (or your office) come up with an Excel template that you require your clients to use that contains only the information you need? 'Other' information can be put in a 'Notes' section.

On the organization side, if you print them out, you can hole-punch and put into binders (not loose folders) with each page on it's own page and a table of contents in the front. Not much help, but better than the "I don't know but my name is Corky" that a lot of answers will be.
