I rescued 4 week old pups what do i feed them?

Somebody called me and heard that i often helped with there dogs. Anyway some irresponsible breeder bred there 6 month old golden retreiver mix and she cant handle these two puppies and she gave them to me so she didnt have to take them to the shelter. Anyway they are 4 weeks old today should they be on some puppy milk or start them off on dog food?

mom is not a choice she was going to dump the two pups off i took them in she said they were eating wet food. But since only being 4 weeks old i have some puppy milk from a litter i rescued a few mos back

Where's Mom? They need Mom not supplements. Go back to get Mom or else take them back.

I'm sorry, but if you take them without being knowledgable enough to know the basics such as "what to feed them", you are not "rescuing them", you are just taking them from one bad situation and sticking them in another.

Take them to an animal shelter that is no-kill. They need to be bottle fed regularly, and they'll probably be sickly since milk replacement formula doesn't help them to get their immunities as they would from the mother's milk! Call the shelter, rescue, or humane society. They need to be fed very often, and they also need a lot of other care that isn't going to be easy or cheap.

I understand that you did this with the right intentions, but you can't just take animals because you feel bad for them if you aren't educated enough to deal with them. Thank you for caring enough to take them, now please take them somewhere that they have a chance.

Also, you need to call the proper authorities and report this person who bred a six month old dog. That is disgusting, and they shouldn't be allowed to keep any more pets!

They should still be with the mother for at least another 4 weeks. PUPPY MILK! In about 2 more weeks, you can start with hard puppy food that has water in it to make it soft. Warm it slightly in the microwave for about 15 secs. If they don't like the water, try some puppy instead of it. You should also be starting to toilet train then. Or take them to a non-kill shelter/vet. They might know better!

Esbilac. It's a dog milk replacer.

Also call your vet and get advice. At 4 weeks they don't need to be bottle fed. You give them the esbilac and start introducing mushed up puppy food with the esbilac.

Your vet or even the people at the shelter will know how to do this. I've had to do it with a pup before.
