How Should I Handle This?.........? |
Earlier today my son was on his way to drop off my mother's day gift. His wife called to say he was on his way with a gift. When I said I didn't know he was on his way, she said "opps I thought he called to let you know he was on his way". I replied "I had no idea". She told me to act surprised and not to tell him she called. What do you think she was trying to do. I didn't want them to argue over such petty stuff so I didn't mention it to my son. Maybe innocently enough she just wanted to make sure you were there so he could give you the gift. There are two possible situations here, either she just didn't want the gift to be a surprise, or that call really was an accident. If she really sounded sorry, then I'd say it was a mistake and you should just let it go. If she sounded sarcastic when she apologised, then I think she really didn't want your gift to be a surprise for some reason, and you should talk to her and your son about it. I hope I helped you, all best. Maybe she wanted you to know that she had something to do with your gift and really thought he had called first to make sure you were at home. I'm glad you did not start a argument between them marriage is hard enough without anyone getting involved, men get the hen pecked, whipped or just out and out mingling family and friends. I don't think I'd worry to much about it. Bottom line is they were considerate and got you a Mother's day gift. Just thank them both and have a great Mother's day. |
