A friend of the family is 22, she gave birth 2 years ago, to a little boy, that boy has cerebel palsly ( sp) and he is very hard to handle and he always has health issues.

Her boyf left her 3 months after C was diagnosed and now has a new girl friend.
she moved back home as her mother is a peads nurse and can look after C, no problem.

what do u think of my families gloating about that, her kid is handicapped? no joke they do joke, and say that if she had kept her legs together this would not have happened.

It is more a reflection on your family for gloating over someone's misfortune. A handicapped child is one of God's special children, and making fun of or gloating is an abomination. The mother having premarital sex should in no way impinge upon the health of an innocent offspring, who will probably need constant care and expend all one's patience, perhaps love. They should be ashamed of themselves..

You need to chill out, just because a person is a virgin does not mean they are frigid, it means they have values and morals that they adhere to.
NO they should NOT be making fun of her or her child, esp NOT the child he asked for none of this. Yes the child should be given help and the Mother as well within reason -- however it was her choices and is her child so the majority of responsibility falls to her.

This attitude sounds more typical of people some 50 years ago. A handicapped child was not considered a blessing but as punishment for having sinned. It used to be common for families to hide these children or send them away to institutions. I know I never attended school with a handicapped child. They stayed home unless their families could afford to send them to special schools.
