How do I handle this situation with my friend?

Here's the scenario. He had a 30th bday party Saturday. I work midnights. I had to work onto dayshift Saturday after working all night. A double shift. Then I had to work midnights again on Saturday. I texted my friend telling him I worked a double and couldn't go to his party because I had to go to bed. Then tonight he texted me back with one word..."Prick"... I told him to grow up and I needed some sleep after working a double. He then responds. "you could have made it." I then respond back to him: "on 2-3 hours of sleep and then have to stay up all night at work again? No. I couldn't do that. Sorry."

He's clearly acting like one of these spolied chicks on that MTV 16th bday show. He grew up as center of attenion. I am so pissed that I'm thinking about tlling him to piss off. I'm also hinking abou calling hm and finding out if he's ready to chill out and get past it. I make NO apologies for getting sleep I need. Everyone I know thinks he's acting like a child. What do I do? Thanks

Just to add. We've been great friends for over 10 years. I was his best man at his wedding. What's funny is he and his wife have made plans with my wife and I a few times and they stood us up. Once the wife and I went shopping for about $60 in groceries for the night they were supposed to come to our house. My wife and I spent nearly two hours preparing the sandwiches and a dip and they didn't show up. Not even a call to say they weren't nor was there an explanation afterward.

I'm seriously thinking about just ignoring him from now on. I have plenty of friends. He just happens to grow up as a spoiled only kid and to this day still has to be the center of attention in groups.

my gosh dude. Mad at you because you didn't make his birthday party? You sure he really isn't a 12 year old girl disguised as a 30 year old man? That's sad. Not to mention self-centered. There are somany health related issues that comes with lack of sleep including heart problems.

Your 'beauty sleep' is not to be replaced by your juvenile "friend." And, he has the cheek to use profanity! Move him along (just like 'the traffic') then, sit well back, and, watch him - "no longer" able to "bite, but", surely, able "to lick!"

you are entitled to your sleep it is your health you need to look after and don't let hem upset you.

Just let the waters cool and if that 16 th year old wanna be then if he can't be a30yr old then tell him this:

"You are acting like 16 th year old wanna be!"
