Husband kept secret from me for two years, how do I handle my anger?

Ok, here is my story. Thanks in advance for your advice. My husband had a one night stand with someone before we met. One month after our wedding and ten months after the one night stand, the woman called him, telling him that she had a child from that night. My husband said that he had mentioned he wanted a paternity test, but she told him that she will have to go to court then and demand much more than if he just pays her under the table. My idiot husband, who at the time was still a medical student, started paying her $500 a month (he got the money from his parents). He even went to the hospital where the child was born, to sign some papers. He never wanted to have a relationship with the child. So for two years, he was paying this woman without my knowledge, even giving me a hard time about our money struggles. He finally told me one month ago, I was soooo mad. I still am mad. I told him to immediately tell her that until a paternity test will confirm that he is the father, he will

...divorce him! He will never be able to be trusted!
yNOT?

First, he's "Father" regardless of paternity. He signed something at the hospital (don't know what or why) and he paid money which can be proven so he's now the "Daddy", and his child comes before you and him. Crazy laws but that's how it works. If he accepts paternity voluntarily this is considered valid legal decision (crazy) and he is stuck with this choice for his life. Nothing he can do about it now.

You are right from start to finish. Have the right to be upset, that child may not be his and thus causing you all financially struggle for no good reason. It's just the smart thing to do,to get a paternity test and know for sure. If you love him you'll get through it,if the kid is his or not. Will take time to heal, because of his deceit. He should have told you.

The only way to deal with your anger is to talk it out like adults and have him stop paying her this money since it is causing you financial burdens. If you think this is too severe where you cannot forgive him, best to move on. Otherwise, have him do the right thing and take the paternity test first.
