To all the teen parents......?

how do you handle your kid if you find out that they sneaked out the house during the night??
would you go too far and call the cops after they came home??

my bad yea meant ''PARENTS OF TEENS"

I wouldn't call the police unless I felt they were in danger. However, I have a bit of a mean streak sometimes, so if I realized my son had snuck out of the house, I might have the urge to lock all the doors/windows and make him ring the doorbell when he wanted back in. Then I'd hear what he had to say for himself.

I'm also a REALLY light sleeper and we have three dogs, so nobody does too much sneaking around in my house.

I mentioned this to my teenage son once, when the subject came up as a hypothetical. He hasn't tried to sneak out yet!

Calling the cops isn't really going to do anything. They are going to tell you it isn't a crime for them to leave their house or not come home at a whatever time. Unless where you live has a teen curfew. I would just sit her down and talk to her and like other post said take things she likes a way.

I assume you mean parents of teenagers, and not teen parents. I'm sure teen parents don't have to worry about their 2 year old sneaking out of the house; parents of teens, on the other hand..

I'd sit them down and give them a strick talking to, ground them, take away their priviledges and anything else they like, install alarms on the door, and if they do it again, THEN call the police.

In this day and age, I would be out looking for them,. Bad--really really bad stuff can happen very quickly to our invincible all knowing, super teens. It can happen so fast that teens sneaking out at night is a parents nightmare. We try to give you the tools to take care of yourself. But an adult with a knife or gun trumps anythng we can teach you. Movies are no
