My husband keeps driving even though he drank all eve?

my husband has the occasional drinks with his buddy and I tell him to take a taxi or call me if he shouldn't be driving.
Yet I just heard from his friends wife that he indeed drank too much and still drove.
I will get more firm from now on but was wondering how other people have dealt with same issues?
He's never a reckless driver but that doesn't justify that he can nor should handle drinking and driving...Please share, thanks!

Thanks for all the quick answers. You all are so right and enough of this BS. I will drive him next time and pick him up or he can cab back. At least he won't have a car or his keys.

All it takes is one time. He may not normally be a reckless driver but when your impaired by alcohol your judgement and reflexes aren't as good as they should be. PLEASE do all that you can (all the steps you mentioned) to keep him off the road after drinking.

Any man who has maturity, brains, consideration for other drivers on the road and respects his wife would call for a ride or hail a cab.

Ten years in prison per death in my state for drunken driving.
We won't even discuss the punitive damages that the court will award and insurnace won't cover. In fact most insurance companies will drop you on a DWI and you're up the creek without a paddle.

Unless you can adapt to residing in a cardboard box under a bridge because you've lost everything due to his stupidity then forget 'firm'. Demand. If he so much as manages to navigate his way home drunk again without causing physical or property damage then get this wino out of your life.

Any man who depends upon alcohol to that degree and to socialize isn't a real man anyway.

Hunny, what do you mean not reckless, he took his and very one else's life into his drunken hands that night, the people at the party should have called the police on him, they were also reckless, if he drinks and even thinks about getting behind the wheel call the police, NO ONE can handle drinking and driving. This is how you deal a one on one talk about his drinking problem, if drink no drive, get a cab, or call a friend of you, you might even go to a couple of AA meetings. God forbid the day you have to tell someone your sorry because your husband killed someone.
