Why are whites to blame?

for the record im white and black so dont call me racist. but i was watching this clip on The Littlle Rock Nine and people were acting like it was the white students fault today that they and blacks dont intermix at school. at my school its like that too. but they still speak to eachother, the blacks just as much as whites CHOOSE not to hang. i see black kids, me included, who prefer to hang with white cuz thats who we mesh with. but i just dont get how its white peoples fault when really its the media's fault for implanting in kids head that white should be paired with white and black should be paired with black. and the fact that black kids arent in advance course has nothing to do with a biased system, its got to do with the fact that some use the past as an excuse not to do work, i know black kids who are hella smarter than me, its got to do with how u r raised. so why do we still blame whites for everything when its clear that its not their burden to handle, its not 1960 anymore.

im gonna assume thinks for herself has something against black people (its understandable if someone has directly been racist toward u) if not then i guess that makes u as bad as them.

I see where your coming from sista, the victim role was played out years ago. I won't pretend that there are flaws in the American cultures that build barriers for black success, but we can't allow those barriers to stop us. And like your statement suggest we really must stop blaming white people for our problems because pointing the finger is unproductived and it's much more profitable to come up with a solution than it is to dwell on the problem (no matter what that may be). As far as like pairing with like, I think that is just natural though we should make a concious effort go outside of the norm to be more understanding of others and their cultures. I know that I tend to hang out more with black people because even though I am a quadroon (1/4th african blood) I am seen as black In the U.S. so that's the way I feel. Also I live in majority white Orange County so it's almost like the few blacks that are here are are forced to hang out with each other because we all can relate to each other. However when we go to Long Beach (the next city over) it seems like we relate better with the white residents, so I think people will cling to people they relate with more so than anything else, and it just so happens that in the U.S. entire communities are seperated by race so that defines relations and I must admit that is sad.

I bet it's because most of the black people you live around are from impoverished dwellings, or very urban areas. Where I live most of the few blacks here are upper-middle class and we truly have different mentalities than blacks from very urban areas Report It

Blacks get blamed for stuff too. But no matter which way it goes, people always forget that the other race is just as guilty. Whites are just as guilty as blacks in ways and Vice Versa. That's life. Who are we to judge the other?

You're a pretty smart young lady! I'm not racist either, but I do prefer to be with my own race, and that is Caucasian or white whichever you prefer. I prefer Caucasian. Racist attitudes if you really want the truth begin at home when a child is very small and their prejudiced parents start them believing such garbage. That's what causes racism. It stems from days way past and gone. Some people in society just don't know how to let old ignorance die. Some people are not happy without causing some kind of uneasiness or violence with people who are not like them. This runs not only in blacks..but in whites, and almost every race in this world. It will never be solved, and it will never change. You have to decide for yourself how you will act and what you will accept and stop worrying about what others think and do. You have no control over others, unfortunately. Just keep thinking the way you are..and you will be fine. Ignorance breeds ignorance, and that's just the way it is. You sound as if you are on the right track. Stay that way, and don't let ignorant people influence your thoughts and ideas. Keep on being YOU!
P.S. Everyone has to have some kind of excuse for being ignorant, so they blame others for their ideas and ignorant beliefts. Thus, you get blacks blaming white for slavery, whites blaming blacks for being a violent race, etc. You see what I mean?
