How to Deal with my SD's Irrantional BM?

My SD's mother swears up and down that she loves her, wants her, needs her........ Yet she never calls her, sends her at least a short note, never comes to get her, and NEVER sends money. FL Child Support Office is taking there time with the CS order. Now, my SD's side of the family is "concerned" with her BM's feelings and what she is "going through." Why do they not "care" for my SD? It's been 5 years now, and I can't handle another 10!

SD = StepDaughter
FL = Florida
CS = Child Support
BM = ? (Bowel Movement, Bridesmaid, Bachelor of Music...)

Well, honestly, if the Birth Mother is staying out of the girl's life...maybe it's for the better, considering the situation you just outlined. Why can you not handle another 10 years of the Birth Mother not fulfilling the role you expect her to? Try to treat your stepdaughter as your own - it will do her way better than trying to expect a crazy woman to pay attention to the motherly instinct she is apparently missing. Just give the girl as much love and support as you can..and hope for the best. Good luck dealing with the family, and I hope the child support comes through if you need it. Try not to get caught up in excessive drama...
