I love him but....afraid to lose him.?

Ok my boyfriend of five months, have two sides of him. One i really love and one i wish he didnt have. The great side of him is that he really takes care of me, says he loves me EVERYTIME i call him from work and always look forward to see me. he treats me like im his GIRL!
the other side is well...not so great. He has a HUGE temper and he easily gets hot headed. Sometimes he takes it out on me. he was never physical but he is verbally abusive. he also drinks so it only makes him even more "aggravated" usually i just leave him alone and let him rant and such but i dont think i wanna live with it. believe me when i say this but i love him SO much!!! i cant stand leaving him. his good side is the one i hate to lose. his temper i think is hereditary because his dad is like that and so is his granpa. they dont drink tho.
whats a girl to do? i dunno people are telling me to leave him but i tried many times, i always end up going back to him and tell him " the past is the past, tomorrow

is another day" i just wish he can control his temper and stop being so verbally abusive. If he he loves me like he said he does, then why not change that side of you? "
advice is good. i just needed to get it off my chest and i hope some good will come after.

Yes you may love his good side but, you need to ask yourself is he worth putting up with when hes on his bad side or bad mood....? ... there is no excuse whats so ever , I don't care if they drink or don't drink... no woman deserves to be treated like that ....and if he loves you like you say he does ....then make him come to you the next time you leave and put your foot down to him and let him know this being hot headed got to stop and the verbal abuse has to stop also....alone with the drinking,,,, I know you love him , but have you ever heard of tough love? ...don't be worried your going to lose him... but fight for what you need to help yourself and if he loves you and is in love with you then let him do some fighting for you.
You can't go through life afraid of losing a guy that is somtimes mean to you and abusive..it will get you know were and they see you will take that and then before you know it they are taking it further and then it's hiting and calling bad names ...put a stop to it now before it too late... help him by helping yourself .

Tell him he has to change if he doesnt leave him you can find a better one the one who will love you and would not drink ...

People can give you all the advice in the world. The decision maker is you. If you're truly happy, keep your eyes wide open and you ears unclogged. Remember your beginnings and remember you are the only one you can change. When verbal stops getting the reaction that he likes, things can escalate. Trust me. A person that does the same thing time after and expect different time after time; borderlines on insanity.
