What about this story?

ok, so my daughter was working on this story years ago, and she wants to know what people think of it. She did not know to space the words out.

鈥淭he Mystery of Jonathan B. Smith鈥?br>


1925, a happy time for families who were rich, but not for families that were poor and had a friend or family member fighting in the war.
There is my mother; nobody knows her real name, so the townspeople just call her Jane. My father, nobody knows his real name, so the townspeople just call him, Dick. I was in my room writing a report on the history of corn on a cold December morning, it was two weeks before Christmas. My father was in town looking for a cure for amnesia. My mother was in the kitchen making supper. I heard a scream, 鈥淎hhhhhhhhh!鈥?I ran down the stairs only to find, nothing, my mother was gone! When I ran to town to look for my father, I could not find him. I asked the store owner if he had seen which way he went. He said with his Scottish accent, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know lassie. Last I saw him; he was on his way to your house.鈥?鈥淭hank you!鈥?I said. I knew that his advice would not help me, but I was told to say thank you to someone when they help me or compliment me. 鈥淗ey lassie,鈥?the store manager called out to me as I was walking out the door, 鈥淗ave you ever heard the story of Jonathan B. Smith?鈥?鈥淣O!鈥?I boomed out loud. 鈥淚 haven鈥檛 the time! I have to run to my house and that dumb story will just waste my time!鈥?I snapped, and I stormed off. When I got back, the town police were there waiting for me there. 鈥淪orry I wasn鈥檛 here to meet you, it鈥檚 just that I ran down to the store to get my father, and he wasn鈥檛 there so I had to run back.鈥?I panted and sat down. When I finally caught my breath, I told the police men to help themselves to whatever they liked. 鈥淣o thank you,鈥?one of them said, 鈥淪o, uh, Jezebel is it?鈥? 鈥淛ezabella.鈥?I corrected. 鈥淥K, Jezabella, tell me, what exactly were you doing when your mother disappeared?鈥?鈥淚 was writing a report on the history of corn.鈥?I said. 鈥淯h huh, ok, then, what was your mother doing?鈥?The second man said as he stepped forward. 鈥淪he was baking a pie. Blueberry pie.鈥?I said.
